Christian counselling in Saskatoon and Online
At Cairis Counselling we offer evidence based clinical therapy integrated with Christian counselling. The goal is help you fully realize the person you were created to be. To get there I help clients find their self-compassion and attend all the sources of hurt and fear in their lives. It’s a healing approach that seeks to go beyond managing stress and anxiety towards letting go the limiting beliefs, traumatic memories and emotional wounds that weigh people down.

Do you feel like you are not enough? Have past experiences shaped the way you feel about yourself for the worse? Are you struggling with feelings of being flawed or worthless?
Sometimes our baggage and shame can lead to anxiety, unwanted anger, low-self esteem, and depression. We can find ourselves making mistakes in our relationships, enduring mistreatment and abuse.
Changing these patterns starts by finding compassion for yourself. With that compassion we can release the shame and heal from trauma, then we have the freedom to figure out who really are. You can believe that you are good enough. Good enough to be loved, to be known, to be accepted, and to belong.
My counselling work flows out of my experience offering spiritual direction. (The simple gift of presence offered to another, providing a gentle but tenacious encouragement to open more fully to God’s love and to themselves; to co-discern the loving action of God in all aspects of life.) God seems to arrive most often disguised as our every day life, this integrates well with counselling.
I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help people find self-compassion, resolve past traumas, let go of shame and become their best selves. In a safe non-judgmental space, you can explore, heal and evolve.
To make it easy to start, I offer the first session for free. After that sessions are $60.

We were all created to demonstrate love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control. If we don’t there is a part of us that is stuck in fear, shame, or pain. If we stay stuck in those things for too long, we start to lose hope and come to believe that we aren’t good enough to be loved by family, friends, or God. The key is to help each one of those parts heal.
Sometimes we have parts of ourselves that are in conflict with each other. We end up doing that one thing we don’t want to do, and another part hammers us with self-condemnation. Other parts are overwhelmed by the fear and traumas of the past and have a difficultly letting up. Sometimes life just hurts, and we don’t know how to let the hurt go.
In my approach we address pain, fear and unhelpful beliefs in a holistic way that bring together your heart, mind, soul, and body. By releasing these burdens we let go of the shame that make it difficult to be our true selves. If we bring all these things together in divine grace, we experience powerful transformation. With my approach to Christian counselling I integrate the best aspects of the IFS approach with Christian faith and spirituality. The nature of this approach makes it compatible with Christians of all stripes.
