Jacqueline Block – Master’s Level Intern Therapist
Are you worn out trying to fight off painful thoughts and stuffing away bad feelings? Is there a disconnect between the expectations you have for yourself and your ability to live up to them? I am your compassionate companion to help you to step back and simply notice those difficult emotions without letting them take over. Through deep self-compassion and self-acceptance you can make peace with your inner world.
We can figure out what truly matters to you and what kind of person you want to be. Once we know what you care about most, we will focus on taking practical steps in that direction. The goal isn’t to magically erase your anxiety, stress, or sadness, because being human means feeling those things. Instead, it’s about learning to carry those hard feelings a little more lightly so they stop holding you back from doing the things you love.
What I bring to therapy:
I am a wife and mother of two young adults. I come to counselling with a wholistic approach to life and on-going desire to nurture different elements of who we are as human beings. Open and curious, I am an explorer at heart. Throughout my life I have supported and empowered others in their healing and growth. With sincerity and care I aim to help people truly know and accept themselves and live life more fully.
Gentle and tenacious, I help people see the goodness that is inside of all us. To get there, we must attend to the wounds and burdens that can be more than we can bear on our own. Change is possible. I offer a space free of judgement, shame or condemnation so you can discover what might be holding you back from the change you truly desire.
It is deeply meaningful for me to connect with people on a heart level and seeing them overcome burdens that weigh them down.
My Approach
My influences include Acceptance and Commitment therapy, relational theories and I am strongly client centered.
