Couples Counselling

Two partners in couples counsellingCouples often find themselves caught in negative cycles—patterns where hurt and frustration pass back and forth, leaving both partners feeling unheard. My work focuses on interrupting these cycles and creating space for connection. Together, we shift into speaking for our hurt instead of from it, fostering compassion rather than disconnection.

I help couples nurture intimacy and strengthen attachment by exploring the underlying emotions that drive conflict. When partners can see each other’s hurt with empathy instead of anger, the frustration gives way to understanding, and the relationship begins to heal. The goal is to resolve current problems and to rebuild trust by learning new patterns of communication.

My approach is experiential and concerned most with changing how we communicate, to process the current cycle of hurt, and to help address any future disconnection. My process is informed by both emotion focused therapy (EFT) and intimacy from the inside out (IFIO); which uses an internal family systems (IFS) framework to address relationships.
