Thomas Friesen

Are you anxious or overwhelmed trying to be everything you’re supposed to be?

It’s easy to lose ourselves amidst life’s demands of work, family, and relationships.  It hurts when, no matter how hard you try, it never feels like enough – and you never feel like enough.  You keep pushing but it’s hard trying to live a life that doesn’t fit who you are.

Getting relief starts with finding compassion for yourself.  Using a trauma healing approach called IFS, I help people heal life’s wounds and attend to the feelings that have been weighing them down.  You can find your true self and orient your life around who you are–your strengths and your values.  Freedom, authenticity and purpose are all possible as you come to realize how unique and valuable you really are.

In a safe, non-judgmental space, you’ll have the opportunity to heal, find meaning and fulfillment. Book today and take the first step toward a more authentic life.

I also provide support for couples, you can find out more about it here.

Leighton Tebay - IFS Therapist - Counselling - Christian Counsellor

We were all created to demonstrate love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control.  If we don’t there is a part of us that is stuck in fear, shame, or pain.  If we stay stuck in those things for too long, we start to lose hope and come to believe that we aren’t good enough to be loved by family, friends, or God.  The key is to help each one of those parts heal.

Sometimes we have parts of ourselves that are in conflict with each other.  We end up doing that one thing we don’t want to do, and another part hammers us with self-condemnation.  Other parts are overwhelmed by the fear and traumas of the past and have a difficultly letting up.   Sometimes life just hurts, and we don’t know how to let the hurt go.

In my approach we address pain, fear and unhelpful beliefs in a holistic way that bring together your heart, mind, soul, and body.  By releasing these burdens we let go of the shame that make it difficult to be our true selves.   If we bring all these things together in divine grace, we experience powerful transformation.  With my approach to Christian counselling I integrate the best aspects of the IFS approach with Christian faith and spirituality.  The nature of this approach makes it compatible with Christians of all stripes.
